PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A man accused of robbing a bank downtown mid-morning last week has been identified as James E. Pettee, 43, of Providence.
Pettee, also known as James Wolfe, is wanted on second-degree robbery charges in connection to the Dec. 18 robbery.
The police said Pettee previously lived in New Hampshire, Ohio and Florida.
Police said Pettee robbed the Webster Bank at Kennedy Plaza on Dec. 18 at 11:21 a.m. The teller slipped a dye pack with the cash into his backpac, polioce said, and it exploded as he was fleeing the area. Police were able to recover some of the money.
