Driver arrested by R.I. State Police tied to Charlestown hit-run

CHARLESTOWN, R.I. -- A Connecticut woman arrested by the Rhode Island State Police in North Kingstown shortly after a pedestrian reported being hit by a car in Charlestown is expected to appear in District Court, South Kingstown, on Thursday.

An arrest warrant was issued for Adriana M. Wright, 42, of 242 Cossaduck Hill Rd., North Stonington, Conn., on felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury and reckless driving resulting in serious injury, Charlestown Police Chief Jeffrey S. Allen said in a news release Wednesday. He said she had agreed to report to court.

She also has a Traffic Tribunal appearance Feb. 5, Allen said.

Allen said the youth, 16, suffered cuts, bruises and a concussion.
