WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- A Cottage Street man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of distributing heroin in Woonsocket, state police Col. Steven. G. O'Donnell said Thursday.
After an investigation that began in November, Giovanni Morales Nieves, 22, of 214 Cottage St., third floor, was arrested at home at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday by members of the drug trafficking task force, with the help of Woonsocket police.
O'Donnell said three small bags of heroin were found on Nieves, and a search warrant yielded 93 grams of heroin, scales, packaging material and other drug distribution paraphernalia. Nieves was charged with two counts of delivering heroin to a police officer, possession, and possession with intent to distribute.
He was ordered held without bail until a hearing Jan. 24.
