PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Because they do not list soy as an ingredient, one lot of Woodstock Brand Tamari Almonds is being recalled by the Providence-based company that produces them, and the Rhode Island Department of Health is cautioning consumers with soy allergies or sensitivity to avoid the snack flavored with soy sauce.
No illnesses related to the recall have been reported, the health department said in a news release issued at 8:45 p.m. Friday.
A Food and Drug Administration listing of the recall said an incorrect back label was applied to packages marked "Best By: 10/24/13, Lot 12298."
Consumers who return the mislabled packages are to get a full refund. Anyone with questions can call (888) 534-0246, ext. 25154 during weekday business hours.
