PROVIDENCE -- A convicted sex offender is accused of murdering a woman and stealing her flat-screen television last April.
Douglas White, 34, of 84 Allston St., was indicted Friday by a Providence County grand jury in the slaying of 54-year-old Donna Oliver.
Oliver's son discovered her body inside 25 Grape St. on May 12, but investigators believe she was murdered sometime between April 15 and April 19.
White has several aliases and a long criminal history, including felony assault, drugs and failing to register as a sex offender. He's listed as a Level 3 sex offender, a category for those most likely to re-offend.
How White encountered Oliver wasn't immediately known. He has been sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender.
