LINCOLN, R.I. -- A family of five was homeless Sunday after a suspicious fire tore through the roof and reached the second floor of a two-story contemporary style home off Jason Drive, authorities said.

Investigators from the State Fire Marshal's Office and Lincoln Police are examining the cause of the fire, said Deputy Chief Todd Tucker, who declined to provide details on the investigation.

No one was injured in the fire and the family, including two parents, an adult and two minors, have found refuge with relatives and friends, Todd said.

Dispatchers sent firefighters from the Limerock, Albion, Lonsdale and Saylesville fire districts to 15 Jason Drive at 4:54 a.m. Lincoln Rescue also responded, Todd said.

An investigation continues.
