It's a wrap. The spring/summer season of StyleWeek Northeast closed Friday night with three runway shows at the Providence Biltmore.
Fresh out of Rhode Island School of Design, Hope Macdonald played with bright (mostly blue and green), mixed prints in her debut StyleWeek collection of dresses, cigarette pants and jackets.
Next up was StyleWeek regular Sarah Prost. Signatures of her Yellow Clover line include impecable tailoring and attention to detail. This season's collection, inspired by her husband's Slovakian heritage, was no different, with embroidery, touches of lace and perfectly aligned rows of buttons incorportated into sorbet-hued baby doll dresses, gowns and pencil skirts.
"Project Runway" alum and StyleWeek creative director Jonathan Joseph Peters closed the week on a whimsical note. Smartphone-wielding models with big hair and hoop earrings mouthed the words to the Cazwell song "I Seen Beyonce at Burger King" while sauntering down the runway. The tightly focused collection centered around a seafoam blue and saffron yellow floral print, used in trumpet skirts, sleeveless tops and swimwear.
