PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A child pornographer pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to videotaping himself engaged in sexually explicit conduct with a boy outside the United States, transporting the images into the country and recording sexually explicit video chat sessions with minors he met on social media.
Juan Carlos Santiago, 35, of Providence, admitted he possessed at least 50 such videos and that he received and distributed at least 150 images of child pornography. His sentencing was set for June 6, when he faces 15 to 30 years in federal prison and 5 years to lifetime supervised release, officials at U.S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha's office said Monday.
GPS data embedded in the images showed they were taken in the Dominican Republic.
