PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- In anticipation of Friday's winter storm, Amtrak says it will reduce service on Friday between New York and Boston.
Southbound service will be suspended after the departures of Northeast Regional train #137, leaving Providence for New York at 2:21 p.m, and the Acela Express train #2167, leaving Providence at at 1:51 p.m.
Northbound service from New York's Penn Station to Boston will also be suspended. The last trains heading to Boston on Friday will be Northeast Regional train #86, leaving Providence at 3:42 p.m., and Acela Expresss train #2160, leaving Providence at 3:45 p.m.
Northeast Corridor service south of New York is not expected to be affected. A determination on Saturday's service will be made on Friday.
In addition, MBTA announced it will stop train service as of 3:30 p.m. Friday.
