CRANSTON, R.I. -- Taking a quick walk around the outside of your house -- even if it means wading through snow -- could be life-saving, according to Mayor Allan Fung.
Knowing that many people may be relying on fireplaces, gas stoves, or other sources of heat in the wake of the blizzard, Fung said it is important that people make sure that outside vents have not become clogged with snow.
Carbon monoxide is a deadly, odorless gas, he said, so it is important that residents throughout the state make sure that their home venting systems were not compromised by the storm.
