"Just touched."
That's the word about Barrington resident Trent Theroux's attempt to backstroke to Block Island all the way from Pt. Judith Light, according to his wife, Jennifer.
Theroux began his swim at 6:20 a.m. and finished about 2:40 p.m.
Theroux's "Back to Black" swim, believed to be the first attempt of its kind, is raising money for spinal cord injury victims.
His 12-mile swim, made all the more difficult thanks to big swells kicked up by Hurricane Leslie, took about 8 1/2 hours. Theroux was accompanied by two boats and a kayaker.
