PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Route 195 Redevelopment District Commission, charged with marketing and selling the land in Providence freed by the relocation of Route 195, has narrowed the candidates for executive director to four, with one additional possibility.
Colin Kane, chairman of the commission, said the seven-member commission hopes to conduct interviews March 4 and March 6.
Also at Monday night's meeting, the commission discussed hiring a real estate advisory firm to help market about 20 acres in the heart of Providence on a nationwide basis.
Although the commission has been hearing informal presentations from local developers, including Churchill & Banks and The Carpionato Group, Kane said the commission needs to think beyond the borders of Rhode Island.
