PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Residents can now see which street and sidewalk repairs will occur if the $40 million bond is approved in November.
The map shows the estimated 62 miles of streets -- or 16 percent of all of the 386.3 miles of city-maintained streets -- that would be repaved, and in what order.
Mayor Angel Taveras will also hold informational meetings in the coming weeks to explain the "scientific, merit-based process that was used to identify roads for repair," the Thursday afternoon news release stated.
While the city has drafted a road-work schedule, the news release states, construction times and final projects may be changed based on circumstances beyond the city's control, such as new private development or unexpected road decay.
