PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A young Valley man is accused of shooting a neighbor, who nearly bled to death, in an attempted robbery last month.
Jose Dagraca, 18, was arrested by Officer Brian Muldoon Wednesday afternoon, minutes after seeing his wanted poster during roll call.
Wilfred Ramos, 29, had identified Dagraca's mugshot from his hospital bed on Saturday, said police prosecutor David Brien.
Dagraca is charged with assault with intent to rob. Thursday morning, defense lawyer Chad Bank argued before District Court Judge Walter Gorman that Dagraca was home with his mother and girlfriend at 34 Bergen St. on Jan. 18, when Ramos was shot outside 66 Bergen St.
Dagraca's relatives murmured in the courtroom.
The judge set bail at $15,000 surety, with a no-contact order. Dagraca's mother immediately sought a bail bondsman.
