Narragansett High School student Rachel D'Ambrosio, 16, told other students from six area high schools how her love of the sun caused her skin cancer and cautioned them against tanning booths.
The program at Cranston East High School, organized by the Melanoma Foundation of New England, featured three cancer survivors and provided insight into the dangers of sunlight and artificial tanning.
Students were able to see their sun-damaged skin by viewing themselves in a face-scanner, and then view how their skin was protected by sun screen.
