PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A 22-year-old Providence woman was shot in the arm early Saturday morning while leaving a Cranston Street nightclub with her boyfriend.
Lt. Oscar Perez said the injury to the woman, who the police would not name, was not life threatening and she was treated at Rhode Island Hospital.
The police said the 2:04 a.m. shooting may have stemmed from an altercation the boyfriend had with others. As the couple walked on Cranston Street, near Anthony Avenue, a Jeep drove up beside them, words were exchanged and then shots were fired, the police said. The Jeep drove off.
