BOSTON (AP) -- The National Weather Service reported that central Massachusetts, areas southwest of Boston and Middlesex County are getting the most snow.
Weymouth and Canton had more than 20 inches, Walpole had 18 inches and Mansfield was reporting more than 16 inches. In Worcester County, Shrewsbury had 20 inches and Clinton 19.
Gov. Deval Patrick said overall he was satisfied with the state's response given that the brunt of the storm hit during rush hour. Patrick, too, got caught in what he called "the mess."
The state Emergency Management Agency monitored coastal areas. Coastal flooding reports were coming in from Scituate, south of Boston, and Revere and Winthrop, north of the city.
