WARWICK, R.I. (AP) -- More than 180 students from 17 Rhode Island high schools are set to compete in an academic decathlon in subjects ranging from music to mathematics.
The 30th annual R.I. Academic Decathlon is being held at the Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick all day Sunday.
Students will compete in 10 subjects, including language and literature, economics and social science. They will also square off in the so-called Super Quiz. This year's topic is Russia.
An awards ceremony will be held at the end of the competition. The winners will represent Rhode Island in the national academic decathlon competition in Minneapolis in April.
