PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen for three straight weeks after dropping another three cents over the past seven days, according to AAA Southern New England.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.759 per gallon at self-service pumps in the Ocean State, according to AAA's weekly survey.
A survey Friday by the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources found the average price at $3.76.
The price here has dropped four cents over the past month, AAA says.
Rhode Island drivers are paying seven cents more than the national average of $3.689, but they're paying six cents less than the $3.819 they were paying last year at Ocean State pumps.
AAA's survey found a 25-cent range in prices, from a low of $3.649 to a high of $3.899. As usual, AAA advises drivers to shop around for the best price.
