CRANSTON, R.I. -- A Providence man who calls himself "Shad" was identified by police Friday as the person whose burning body was found in Pocasset Cemetery.
Gandy S. Kaydea, 22, who last lived at 59 Progress Ave., was found dead along the entrance to the historic cemetery on Dyer Avenue late Wednesday night. Firefighters had been called about what appeared to be a brush fire, but turned out to be a body.
Cranston Police Chief Marco Palombo Jr. said Friday that the homicide is believed to be gang-related.
Police have not commented on how Kaydea died, or whether there are suspects.
