PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- After selling him marijuana, the police say, the 19-year-old man stood outside his Washington Park home with the customer Tuesday and discussed another deal.
Then the alleged drug dealer noticed that Providence police surveillance vehicles were nearby.
"Yo, stay here," Marcus Goodrich warned the customer -- not realizing he was talking to Detective John Black, who was working undercover, said Cmdr. Thomas F. Oates III.
Goodrich and a friend ran back into 132 Cass St., as Black signaled for the other narcotics detectives to move in, according to a police report.
The detectives reported seizing $1,160, boxes of 12-gauge shotgun rounds, and a total of 8.8 ounces of marijuana from the house. No firearm was found.
Goodrich was arrested on three felony drug charges.
