PROVIDENCE -- The day after the Health Department gave the Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center the green light to begin selling medical marijuana, two other dispensaries are pressing ahead with plans to open.
Seth Bock, chief executive officer of Greenleaf Compassionate Care Center in Portsmouth predicted that he's about a month away from being ready to begin selling marijuana to patients on Aquidneck Island and in the East Bay.
The Slater Center is in Providence and plans to open on April 19.
Meanwhile, Armand Spaziano, a board member at the Summit Medical Compassion Center in Warwick, said that officials are in the final stages of settling on two separate sites in the city for a dispensary and cultivation center. He hopes to open in June or July.
