PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- Firefighters from several communities are fighting a multi-alarm fire that has heavily damaged two multi-family buildings on Harrison Street near Slater Street.
The fire, reported about 1:30 p.m., spread to nearby yards and sheds. In addition to Pawtucket firefighters, crews from Providence, East Providence and Johnston were also assisting.
