WARWICK, R.I. -- A Warwick man charged with the murder of Donna Pike, of Woonsocket, was held without bail Friday, while the state medical examiner released the cause of her death as blunt force trauma to the head, according to the state attorney general's office.
Brian Audette, 43, of 307 Elm St., was held as an alleged violator of a suspended sentence dating back to a 1991 robbery case.
Pike, 57, was found dead in her apartment at 79 Rathbun St. on Monday evening after her landlord reported he had not seen or heard from her in a couple days.
Woonsocket police have provided few details of the incident.
Audette is scheduled to appear again in court April 18.
