Rhode Island State Police have a car towed from Bonnet Shores Community Center in Narragansett after a police chase Monday morning.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. -- A Massachusetts couple who Monday led the police on a high-speed chase through two cities and later drove into two police cars wounding two officers are due in court Tuesday.

Authorities said James Mullin, 23, of Marlborough, and his passenger Amy Iacovelli, 20, of Hopkinton, Mass., were speeding on Carpenter Lane in North Kingstown around 8 a.m. North Kingstown police tried to stop them but called off the chase due to safety concerns. Narragansett police picked up the case on Boston Neck Road.

The chase ended when Mullin lost control of the car about half a mile away on Bonnet Shore Road, driving into an open field.

Three Narragansett police officers were treated at area hospitals for minor injuries.
