BOSTON -- Hundreds of people lined Washington Street Thursday morning for a chance to hear President Obama speak at an interfaith service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, three days after the bombing at the Boston Marathon.
Many people, such as Deborah Stirio-Turi, of Boston, knew their chances of getting in were slim but felt drawn to the streets of Boston anyway.
"I just felt the need" said Stirio-Turi, who was a participant in Monday's race until police stopped her and so many others at the 25-mile mark. "I'm feeling overwhelmed with sadness. I just can't seem to shake it."
The service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on a sunny spring day.
