WATERTOWN, MA -- Officials involved in the apprehension of the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing -- Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, a UMass Dartmouth student -- expressed relief and thanks that the manhunt ended Friday night.
"We're exhausted folks," said Col. Timothy Allen, superintendent fo the Massachusetts State Police. "But we have a victory here tonight."
Tsarneav was captured alive. His brother,Tamerlan, 26, died in a police shootout early Friday morning.
Governor Deval Patrick thanked all law enforcement officials who "brought their A-game," and also thanked members of the public for their "patience and participation in this investigation," referring to tips, submissions of photos and videos at the marathon, and heeding the advice to stay indoors.
However, Patrick said, "there are still questions that remain to be answered" relating to the bombing. The most basic is why.
