PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It may not have legislative approval yet, but Governor Chafee's proposal to move more than 150 state workers in the Executive Office of Health and Human Services from the Cranston state government complex to a new office in downtown Providence has some of the city's prominent realtors, developers and property owners intrigued.
Representatives from the Carpionato Group, Cornish Associates, Paolino Properties, the Peregrine Group and CB Richard Ellis were among those in attendance Friday at a public meeting in the state Department of Administration building on the state's bid request.
The meeting was mandatory for all those interested in bidding on the project, which calls for a 70,000- to 80,000-square-foot space to house about 48 private offices, 204 work stations and 6 conference rooms.
