PAWTUCKET, R. I. -- Detectives from the Pawtucket Police Department are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting on Maynard Street where a local man was injured.
The police received a 911 call at 3:40 a.m. but did not find any evidence of a crime scene or victims when they arrived in the area, a news release said.
Providence Police Department officers called Pawtucket officers later that day, and said there was a man at Rhode Island Hospital who said he was shot in Pawtucket.
Louis Dos Santos, 30, who has addresses in Pawtucket and Central Falls, had non-life threatening injuries, the Pawtucket news release said.
Pawtucket Police did not have any suspects Saturday night, and the investigation is continuing.
The news release says, "Initial facts suggest Dos Santos may have been targeted and this has not been a random act."
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Richard Laforest at 401-727-9100 ext. 761.
