PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The South Providence neighborhood, which has seen some of the worst gun violence in the city, will hold a peace rally Monday afternoon.
The rally will be simple: People will be invited to stand together, arm-in-arm, in a show of solidarity against the violence.
The rally begins at 3 p.m. on Broad Street, at Laura and Mitchell streets. Participants will be invited to "lock arms for peace," said organizer Kobi Dennis, the executive director of Project: Night Vision, a weeknight program for local teens.
"Anybody can be there," Dennis said. "This is about unity. This is about what we have in common."
