PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The city's Boys & Girls Clubs have joined with the office of the mayor in announcing a free summer program for children and teens.
They announced that free memberships will be offered to 50 youths ages 6 to 12 in the South Side Clubhouse summer camp, at 1 Louisa St. The program runs from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays between now and Aug. 16. Interested parents can call (401) 444-0766 for free registration.
In partnership with the Providence Housing Authority, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence will also offer teen nights from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Open for up to 50 teens per night, the nights will include time in the gym, pool and specialty activities.
