A dozen Tall Ships, under billowing white sails, slowly pass Fort Adams like low-floating cumulus clouds into Narragansett Bay, under the Pell Bridge and back out to sea, ending the four-day Ocean State Tall Ships Festival.

State Rep. Nicholas Gorham, R-Coventry, has proposed a "super town" combining 5 ½ communities in the rural western part of state. Gorham's bill would create a single town out of Exeter, Foster, Glocester, Scituate, West Greenwich and western Coventry.
