Rhode Island's Democratic lawmakers in the U.S. House gave high praise Wednesday to President Obama's speech about rebuilding the middle class.
Congressman David Cicilline said the president outlined a "clear, attainable strategy" for creating opportunities for men and women to work their way into the middle class and said he looks forward to fighting for proposals to reinvigorate manufacturing, including his own proposed Make It in America Act.
Congressman James Langevin criticized House GOP lawmakers saying, "most importantly, we need to move beyond the obstruction and intransigence that have characterized the Republican House and a find a way to work together in the best interests of the families that sent us here ... The challenges facing us are too critical to be derailed by politics."
