PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A local man told police that he was hit in a drive-by shooting while walking near Charles Street and Branch Avenue on Wednesday night.
Jon Thomas, 23, who lives in Washington Park, told police that someone in a white vehicle with tinted windows opened fire on him while he was walking around 10:30 p.m., according to a police report. Thomas was shot in his left leg, and he told police that he flagged down someone to take him to Rhode Island Hospital.
Police searched the area, but didn't find a crime scene. Thomas was listed in good condition at the hospital Thursday afternoon.
