CRANSTON, R.I. -- A silver alert issued earlier in the day for an 81-year-old man who had been missing since 5 a.m. Tuesday was canceled around 10 p.m. after he turned up at Rhode Island Hospital.
Sgt. Brian D'Amico said John Hanrahan, the object of the search, had been taken to the hospital after he walked into a business and appeared disoriented.
The police had activated the silver alert in the afternoon, saying that he suffers from Alzheimer's disease..
