Photo: Are crabs smarter than we are?

Rosa Barcelos of Riverside was trying to catch crabs Monday morning in 100 Acre Cove at Walker Farm in Barrington. She could see a crab nibbling at her chicken bait, but it would let go just as she was about to net it. She says that she started crabbing last summer and is beginning to think that the crabs might be smarter than we are. Our weather partners at WPRI are forecasting a partly sunny day today with highs near 82 inland, the upper 70s at the coast. Coastal areas could see isolated showers.
