PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Police departments across Pennsylvania's Berks County are looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Providence man Friday.
The suspect, Felix Olivares, 20, of Providence, "has some family" in Berks County and the police "are actively searching for him," said Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams.
According to Providence police, the victim, Johenlly Gabriel Espinal, was driving out of a parking lot at the Wiggin Village housing complex off Westminster Street when his car was rammed by another vehicle. The driver of the second car jumped out, shot Espinal, and ran off, the police said. Espinal was later pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital.
The police have issued warrants for Olivares and another suspect, Kongvannark "Ricky" Maloney, 21, of Providence.
The police say the shooting appears to be the result of a romantic triangle involving Maloney, a woman they have not named, and Espinal, who was studying at the Lincoln School of Technology to become a dental hygienist.
Berks County is northwest of Philadelphia. The county seat is Reading, which is about 64 miles from Philadelphia.
