PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Islanders are being encouraged to celebrate one of the last 'wild' forests in the Providence city limits.

As part of the state's "Land Trust Days" series, guides plan to provide tours of Providence's Neutaconkanut Park on Tuesday.

The forest area on Plainfield Street is known as the last uncleared forest in the city, and features old oaks and more newly planted pine trees. The site also provides excellent views of downtown Providence.

The guided tours are set to run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Land Trust Days is an ongoing series of events designed to highlight the value of Rhode Island's land trust conservation efforts.
