PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Island's governor is meeting with one of President Barack Obama's top environmental advisers.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee is scheduled to host Nancy Sutley, the chairwoman of the Council on Environmental Quality at an event Wednesday in Providence. The council works with other federal agencies to coordinate the president's environmental initiatives.
Wednesday's event is intended to focus on climate change and its effect on public health.
U.S. Rep. Jim Langevin and U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse are expected to attend the event.
