Rhode Island highway crews are in the process of restore a defaced Route 95 mural designed by award-winning author and illustrator David Macaulay.
Providence Journal columnist Edward Fitzpatrick took a lunchtime job past the site and tweeted the progress, where red graffiti tags spray-painted across the trompe l'oeil arches on the highway's southbound side merge from Route 146.
