PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- An early-morning fire Saturday damaged a three-story apartment building at 205-207 Rhodes St., but the four adults and two children inside at the time were able to safely evacuate, according to Deputy Assistant Fire Chief Joseph R. Desmarais.
Desmarais said the fire broke out shortly after 2 a.m. and apparently started on the exterior of the building. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation, he said.
The Red Cross was assisting the occupants in finding housing, Desmarais said.
