WEST GREENWICH -- A man was hurt around 6:25 p.m. Sunday after his car struck a telephone pole and rolled over on Nooseneck Hill Road, police said.

The man's identity, and the extent of his injuries, weren't available Sunday night, but Lt. Craig Barone of the West Greenwich police said the man was up and walking after rescue crews extracted him from his damaged car.

Barone said the man's car was traveling north on Nooseneck Hill Road, state Route 3, near Route 95, when it drifted into the breakdown lane, hit a telephone pole and rolled over.

Barone said it took 30 to 40 minutes to get the man out of the wrecked car. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
