PROVIDENCE, RI - Dara Chadwick, the former spokeswoman for the Rhode Island Department of Health, has been appointed chief of strategic communications and media relations for HealthSource RI, the Obamacare health-benefits exchange.
Chadwick will serve as the primary media contact and will play a key role in public outreach and education efforts for HealthSource RI, the system by which individuals and small businesses will obtain health insurance next year. HealthSource RI will start enrolling people on Oct. 1.
"Right now, one of our major goals is building awareness of HealthSource RI, as well as of the services we will offer to Rhode Islanders in selecting coverage," Ian Lang, associate director of marketing and communications at HealthSource RI, said in a statement. "Dara's skills and expertise will help us accomplish that goal."
Before joining the Health Department, Chadwick served as communications director for the Employees' Retirement System of Rhode Island, and has worked as a freelance journalist.
