WARWICK, R.I. -- The search for a plane believed to have crashed in the Greenwich Bay area has been called off, Mayor Scott Avedisian and Fire Battalion Chief James Kenney said at a news conference Thursday morning by Oakland Beach.
Warwick fire officials said tower controllers at T.F. Green reported seeing "a blip" on the radar that appeared to have been flying too low around 7:40 a.m. No visual or radio contact was made. Officials said it was unclear if the trace was that of a plane or a reflection on the radar or a flock of birds.
