PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Gas prices dropped another three cents over the past week and unleaded regular now average $3.729 per gallon at self-service pumps in Rhode Island, according to AAA Southern New England's weekly survey.
A similar survey Friday by the state Office of Energy Resources found the average price at $3.72.
According to AAA, the average price here has dropped eight cents in the past month, but it's still 18 cents higher than the national average of $3.549, according to AAA.
A year ago Rhode Island drivers were paying 13 cents more per gallon, or $3.859.
AAA's survey found a 27-cent range in prices, from a low of $3.629 to a high of $3.899.
