PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Helen Glover, morning talk-show host on WHJJ-AM has been let go by the station following her show Tuesday. Glover said her replacement will be local talk radio veteran Ron St. Pierre, who was laid off by rival WPRO-AM in February.

WHJJ executives confirmed Glover's departure but declined to comment on St. Pierre. In a Facebook message St. Pierre declined to comment as well.

Glover, a Portsmouth resident who was a 2002 finalist on the reality show "Survivor," was approaching her eighth anniversary on the air.

"I always knew this would happen one day, I just didn't know it would be today," Glover said in a phone interview.

St. Pierre, a member of the Rhode Island Radio Hall of Fame, has worked at both WHJJ and WPRO, on the air and off. Most recently he was a co-host and executive producer of The Buddy Cianci Show on WPRO.
