PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A male stripper accused of sexually assaulting two women at a private party in Wareham, Mass., last month is now charged by Providence police with grabbing a woman in his East Side neighborhood.
Patrick Ladapo, 31, was arrested at his home at 154 Taber Ave. Monday morning on a charge of simple assault. A 23-year-old woman who lives near Ladapo told Providence police that he had grabbed her around the neck -- in an effort to convince her to go out with him.
The woman told police that Ladapo had been aggressively trying to date her, often showing up at her house when she came home from work and even trying to block her in her driveway. When she brushed him off, Ladapo became "irritated," Amato said, and told her that "he knew her type" but that he was "persistent," according to a police report.
The woman said he was waiting for her on Aug. 26. When she got out of her car, Ladapo put his arm around her and tried to get her to see his car, telling her: "I see you have no life. You should hang with me," the report said.
She told him she was tired, the report said, and he responded, "I know how to play," "I've been doing this forever," and more.
The next day, Ladapo was dancing as "Damion" at the party in Wareham, Mass., where he allegedly sexually assaulted two women during his performance. The Wareham police charged Ladapo on Aug. 28 with two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault. His profile has since been removed from the Web site of Blaze Entertainment, the exotic dancer company in Boston where he worked.
The Providence woman came forward to the Providence police two days after Ladapo's arrest in Wareham.
Ladapo pleaded not guilty at District Court, Providence, where a judge set bail at $2,500 with surety and issued a no-contact order with the 23-year-old woman, said Providence Police Maj. David Lapatin.
The investigation is continuing, Lapatin said.
