Rhode Island Governor Chafee joined other New England governors and Canadian premiers at the 37th annual conference of the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers, Monday in La Malbaie, Quebec.
According to Chafee's office, the governors and premiers "explored themes of common interest" including clean energy such as hydropower; greater use of energy-efficient vehicles; addressing and mitigating climate change; railway transportation and mutual assistance in the event of an emergency.
They passed six resolutions in those areas, Chafee's office said.
