NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) -- New Bedford authorities are investigating the deaths of a 19-year-old woman and her infant whose bodies were found in their apartment.
The Standard-Times of New Bedford reports the bodies were found Friday afternoon. Police Chief David Provencher said no conclusions have been reached about what he calls "suspicious unattended deaths."
A spokesman for District Attorney Samuel Sutter said there was no sign of forced entry or a scuffle in the Bullard Street home in the city's North End. Spokesman Greg Miliote said autopsies will be conducted Saturday.
Authorities did not say how long the bodies may have been there.
