PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- The state Ethics Commission is set to decide whether to pursue an investigation into a complaint that Rhode Island's House Speaker violated income disclosure rules.

The complaint alleges that Speaker Gordon Fox violated the code of ethics by not reporting income he received while doing legal work on behalf of the Providence Economic Development Partnership.

The complaint was filed by Judith Reilly of Salem, Mass.

The commission is meeting Tuesday in Providence. It's scheduled to decide whether the complaint merits an investigation.

Fox, a Providence Democrat and an attorney in private practice, handled dozens of loan closings as a subcontractor for the city's Economic Development Partnership over several years.

A spokesman for Fox says he had no comment on the complaint.
